Many people think about their purpose. Someone believes in fate and its inevitability; someone believes that a person is the blacksmith of his own happiness. The story of Tatiana Pustovit combines both of these statements: you need to work hard yourself and then fate will be favorable. A long period of your life is associated with the municipal service, leading serious positions in large companies in Russia and abroad, and even your own business. How did you find yourself in the fashion world? There are no contradictions here. I have always been interested in creativity, beauty and self- development. That is why I did not stop at one education. I got my Ph.D. in economics, but I wanted to understand other areas of interest to me, so I became a Master of Arts from the University of South Florida in Tampa (USA) and an MBA in Tourism. Besides the municipal service in culture, I also had a more creative period in my life. I worked as a presenter of television programs on the channel STS and Dom TV (Regional Broadcasting to the Krasnodar Territory), and also was the author and producer of the international magazine “Inter@ active”. I organized major events in Russia, Europe and UAE in the field of fashion and art. I conducted children’s beauty contests and created an international women’s club “Re-Forma”.
Therefore, it was no coincidence that I got into the world of fashion. All my activities, the baggage of knowledge and skills gradually prepared me for this. It is a common misconception that people in the fashion industry are only interested in clothing or beauty treatments. Those of them who have reached certain heights are usually very educated and versatile people. And in my opinion, only by having a wealth of experience can you create something unique. Tell us more about your creative period. What exactly did you do? Initially, I acted as a host and as a model at major events. I took part in many charity concerts and shows for disabled children, organized the first children’s beauty contest in the city of Sochi in 2005.
Then my leadership qualities took over, it coincided with my passion for painting and I became the official face of a contemporary Russian artist – Mr. Vibem, presenting his exhibitions around the world, including the MoRa Museum of Contemporary Art in New Jersey (USA), Art Basel, Miami, World Art Dubai in UAE. In October 2021 I was invited as an art expert to be a jury member of the US Nation 2021 Beauty Pageant in Las Vegas at the Royal Crystal Event Center, America. I met the founder of the Miss US Nation Universe Pageants. She appreciated my ability to see the sophistication of female beauty as a single image, which gave me the confidence that I was on the right track. And as a result, it led me to be selected to represent Miami as Mrs. Miami US Nation 2022 at Mrs. Florida US Nation 2022 pageant, West Palm Beach, followed by MISS US NATION 2022: Oct 22nd, 2022 (Washington D.C.).
As a US Nation titles holder (Mrs. Miami and Mrs. Florida), I was invited to host and be a leading model in two International Exhibitions in UAE in May 2022, as a judge for Mr. and Mrs. UAE International pageant in June 2022 in Dubai and became a honorable member of the most exclusive lifestyle and business club in Dubai (UAE). I never stop. The modeling industry is so exciting, that I decided to create my own accessories brand “Pustovit. As a result, together with BOCCARA Art Gallery in West Palm Beach we organized my first brand exhibition this year. I decided to combine my brand of silk craves with Chinese artist’s paintings on fabric to present new techniques between old style and contemporary views that marked a new step for the American contemporary art and fashion audience.
It was an honor for me to act as a model, host and presenter of my personal brand collection for guests from business, art, fashion, modeling, sport, culture and politics. Tell us what participation in beauty contests means to you? I am grateful to fate that today I can take part in such a significant competition. For me, this is a new stage in my life and career. It was here, in America, that I felt like a really real woman, regardless of age, social and marital status. As if a new breath has opened – I know that all the most interesting is ahead of me and is just beginning. I raised my daughter and gave her a path to life; I can finally fully devote myself to my favorite modeling business, and after all, sometime 15 years ago, it was she, my little 5-year-old princess who took part in the first beauty contest in her life and won!
She inspires me all my life. As a member of the jury of a beauty contest in Las Vegas, I realized: there are no ugly women, there is no concept of age, weight or height, there is a concept – a woman’s soul and charm, inner beauty, style and wisdom. Beauty is a sensation, it is a holistic image that has no boundaries, terms, or restrictions. You have come a long way in different ways. What are your next plans? Say, next year? In the near future, I want to actively continue my career in the field of art, model business and fashion. For 2023, I have planned not only participation in beauty contests, but also numerous participations in fashion weeks around the world, photo shoots and participation in television programs.
I want to show all women – that there are no time limits or age restrictions to start your modeling career and to always be young and beautiful. I actively take part in all international projects and events, connected with modeling, art and fashion. I present at the Contemporary Art Museum in NJ as a member of Advisory Board for Fashion, I am leading a women’s group in UAE “The Ambassador’s Club” Association, building my own fashion brand “Pustovit”, and I am the author of a new book coming soon for women.
